800 Degrees Pizzeria

The project

The saying goes if you can't stand the heat then get out of the kitchen so at the recently opened 800 Degrees Pizzeria in Stone, Staffordshire Bettaquip stood up to the challenge to provide a Design and Installation solution for the kitchens, servery counter and bar.

800 Degrees is a welcome addition to the local food scene. The restaurant prides itself on offering its guests authentic, made to order Neapolitan style pizzas, cooked in its distinctive traditional wood fired pizza oven. 

Chris Perkins the MD of 800 Degrees is passionate about sourcing only the freshest and finest ingredients. The pizza sauce is made from San Marzano tomatoes, grown in the volcanic soil of Mount Vesuvius near Naples. The artisan pizza dough is made on site from a closely guarded secret recipe, it is at the heart of what 800 Degrees is all about. Slowly fermented over 24 hours and then cooked at 800 degrees for around 60 seconds, the team boasts that "this results in the best pizza you will have ever tasted outside of Italy". 

The result

Bettaquip worked alongside Chris providing the design support and advice for fitting out the back kitchens, front of house service counter and bar.

The focal point of the kitchen is the Napoli 1500 Pizza Oven this literally reaches a  temperature of 800 degrees cooking a pizza in 30 seconds.

The bespoke Corian topped pizza make up counter and pass stylishly enhances the  theatre of the open wood fired pizza oven.  Back of house the dough room has a walk in modular cold room and a Marble top  refrigerated prep counter. The Sammic dough mixer is the work horse of the area  producing up to 17Kg of dough in a single batch. The wash up has an Electrolux hood type dishwasher and bespoke tabling to  maximise the work space.
